The 2017 European Chronicles open with a brief summary of the major\u00a0political, economic and institutional events of the year, such as the beginning\u00a0of the Brexit procedure (the United Kingdom’s withdrawal from the European Union). The Chronicles then analyse the main developments of the\u00a0European integration process, through the conclusions adopted by the meetings of the European Council, as well through the main EU legislative acts\u00a0and actions. The Chronicles then provide a synthesis of the most important\u00a0institutional and legal news, the relationships between citizens and EU institutions, and the main evolutions that occurred in the context of the economic\u00a0and monetary union.
