In particular, the author examines the 20 years of the Code of Cultural Property and Landscape (Legislative Decree No. 42 of 22 January 2004). The analysis focuses on the context, legacy and points of tension that characterized the preparation of the Code, the choices made, and the gaps in the legislation, as well as the trends towards change that have emerged in recent years.
